An experience of our migration of our DC through using of cloud technology
- by NIE download presentation in pdf (1.55 MB)
NIE moved to its new home from Bukit Timah campus to Yunnan Garden campus in year 2000. Since then it has been 12 years and during this period, NIE's computing resources has grown multiple fold. With constantly-growing demands and aging facilities, there is a need to build a new data centre with higher capacity and green technology that reduces energy consumption and provides better efficiency.
In this session, we would like to share how we collaborated with NIE estate team to build a new data centre that is "SS-564 Green Data Centre" ready. We will also share the challenges we faced and how we managed to continue deliver critical services through virtualization during the 48-hour relocation period. |

SMU's IT Governance implementation Journey - by SMU
download presentation in pdf (1.85 MB)
In 2010, IITS adopted an IT governance framework that defines the key areas necessary to support SMU's vision, mission and goals. This framework is grounded on industry best practices such as CobiT,
ITIL and ISO, etc. In execution, the framework helps SMU's stakeholders come together systematically to determine the roles for IT in teaching, research, outreach and management.
In 2012, 15 IT governance projects were identified to help meet IITS's mission. These projects are categorised in the areas of Project Management and Systems Development, IT Service Management
and IT Risk Management and to be implemented in two years.
SMU will share our journey in the implementation of IT Governance, challenges, lessons learnt and benefits. Brief examples will be drawn from two projects; namely, assessing and managing IT risks and managing service desk and incidents. |
